    Brotherhood Development

  • Colony utilizes all phases of LEAD with guest facilitators.

The plan to utilize all LEAD phases is to ensure that all brothers are able to exceed and learn from the different phases throughout their time spent here at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  Progress of each brother will be tracked by the LEAD committee.  Each member of the LEAD committee will be delegated a different phase to ensure that each phase will have an event hosted throughout each semester.  The goal of the LEAD committee is to have brothers learn valuable lessons to help them exceed upon graduating from the university.  Guest facilitators should range from students within the greek community to students of other organizations on campus.  Also utilizing services provided by the unversity to host annual etiquette dinners and sexual assualt seminars.

Colony can articulate the impact of their LEAD programming.

"The four Phases of LEAD articulate the path onto which a brother should be following to develop skills throughout his college career. The different modules allow for a wide variety of lessons and attributes to be taught. The Teaching methods used to articulate LEAD also allow for a variety of brothers to learn in different ways. It feels less like a classroom lesson at school and more like a life lesson brought to you by someone within your brotherhood, and known experts."

    -Justin Benoit

    Former LEAD Chairman

Colony has compiled a list of possible guest facilitators and their contact information.

The colony has worked with the university's databased and keeps, on hand, a spreadsheet of all possible guest facilitators on campus.

Colony attends College of Chapters and Grand Chapter.

Our Commander, Lt. Commander, Recruitment Chairman, and LEAD/ Petition Chairman all attended Grand Chapter in July of 2010. It was here that they learned from other chapters and colonies about how meetings and business can be accomplished in different manners.  Having these members attend and experience this atmosohere served as a intricate part of revamping our style of accomplishing business.

"I would first like to thank you for allowing Michael Plauche and I to be a part of your colony this past weekend at your retreat. Yes, I know it is Our Fraternity but it is YOUR Chapter. We both agreed we felt like we were back at school hanging out with our Brothers. It brought back a lot of great memories, thank you."

    -Karl Moeller HN 435

    LEAD Advisor

Colony sponsors an officer transition session as part of its transition plan each semester.

After electing new officers, the Colony holds a week long period for past officers to meet with incoming officers.  Each newly elected officer will be responsible for providing documentation inorder to prove that a successful transition was competed.

The transition conversations must included discussion of any issues that occurred throughout past year and determining solutions for the issues, as well as brainstorming new ideas for events that are relavent to each position so that past ideas are not continuously recycled. Incoming officers are also expected to be familiar with policies and procedures that coincide with their newly elected office.
