Colony established a positive relationship with campus fraternity/sorority advisor and other campus administrators who serve as a resource.
Over the past year the colony has built up positive working relationships almost all the greek organizations on campus, a number of advisors, and administrators throughout campus as well as leaders throughout the community. We pride ourselves on the strong bonds that we were able to create between the fraternities and sororities on campus, as well as the professional reputation we have created for ourselves amongst the faculty and staff at UL.
"Sigma Nu is a fraternity that is on the rise and is thriving here in Lafayette. They are actively involved on campus, taking leadership positions in other campus organizations, recruiting with the highest standards, and giving back to the community with service hours and donations."

The Homecoming Sweepstake is judged based off a number of participation in certain events throughout the week. The events include painting a spirit banner, participating in a karaoke competition, and building and painting a Homecoming Parade float. The majority of points, during homecoming week, can be earned by having a majority of a chapter attend events throughout the week.

Most Recognition awards are given out at the end of each spring semester at the Greek Awards Program, hosted by the Office of Greek Affairs, and Ragin Recognition, hosted by the Dean of Students Office. Colony actively assisted members in becoming involved in other organizations or campus programs.
The colony encourages all it's members to become involved with as many organizations as possible. We push our members to become leaders not just in our organization, but in every organization they join through their college careers.

Colony has been a leading voice in issues facing the fraternity/sorority community.
The colony has decided to speak out against sexual assault and educate members of the greek community on ways to protect themselves as well as their fellow brothers and sisters. Unfortunately due to time restraints and logistical issues, we were not able to host the desired event last semester; however, this semester we are committed to hosting a successful sexual assault awareness seminar.
We plan on incorporating members from the University Police, University Health Services, and a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner in a presentation to ensure our fellow greek members will leave better educated and protected. While this will be an opportunity for the colony to speak out and educate our fellow greeks about an important issue facing the greek community, we are also going to inviting students from all different areas of campus. Our goal is to educate and raise awareness so that this terrible crime occurs less and less.
We will be advertising for the event by sending invitations to all the greek organizations as well as all other on campus organizations, posting flyers around campus, and utilizing social networks such as Facebook.
