Eta Nu Colony
Colony Operations
Colony operates on an annual budget with a 5% revenue over expense margin.
Over the past year, the colony has collected dues and has operated with an overall budget over a 5% revenue over expense margin. When creating the individual accounts and budgets, we created three accounts: a checking, a savings, and a philanthropy account.
A checking account was created so the colony would be able to write checks for items necessary throughout the year (recruitment t-shirts, food for recruitment events, social venues, etc.).
A savings account was created to directly deposit 5% of the total colony's funds into an account that shall only be used in an extreme case of emergency, or any extenuating circumstances.
The colony created a Philanthrophy account to deposit any money rasied through philanthropic fundrasing events, so no extra money would be mixed into budgets and the account could be zeroed out once the event was over and the check was donated. When the account was first created, the colony deposited $500.00 to donate to an upcoming philanthropic fundraising event.
Now since the year has ended and the colony is not currently participating in any philanthropic fundraisers, the account balance is $0.00.
To see the actual account balance in our checking and savings account, please click here for saving and here for checking.
Colony members are involved in creating a Colony budget which expends financial resources in a manner which supports the mission of the Fraternity.

Creating budgets for individual committee is the responsible of the finance committee. In the beginning of each semester the committee meets and puts together budgets based on committee needs and events. When an expense is needed a committee chairman must fill out the budget request form to the Treasurer before a check can be written.

Colony has had no past due balance with the General Fraternity, College or University, or any other entity.
The colony is currently paid up on any debts owed to the General Fraternity and to the University. The Treasurer is charged with the responsibility of ensure that all debts are paid in full and do not exceed over an extended period of time.
Bylaws:
"F. The Treasurer shall ensure all the Colony’s debts are promptly paid"
-Article Five Section Three
"The chapter is in good financial standing with the General Fraternity as of this date."
